We had a great evening here with friends taking advantage of the September 2 for 1 entree deal plus $8 corkage fee for a bottle of Prisoner wine ($39 at the State liquor store). The service was impeccable and we loved the entrees of rack of lamb, ribs and trout. The ambience in this beautifully appointed restaurant was excellent and on a very rainy evening it was perfect to be able to be less than 100 yards from the Marriott Summit Watch where we are staying.

What a disappointment! The beat part of our meal was the bread and our waiter. The goat cheese salad was fine but our entrees were a disaster. They do not know how to cook meat which is evident be mine and other reviews. My Filet came out medium to medium well when I ordered it medium rare. By the way, the filet was extremely small by steak house standards and was about 1/4 to 1/2 thick. They did ask about my meal and offered to bring me a new one but I declined as I was famished from a day of skiing. My dish was at least edible. My friend had the Lamb Chops( came out at least 5 minutes after mine)which looked like it did not make it to the grill... Completely raw! It was sent back, cooked better until the last 2 chops which was once again raw. Waiter was mortified, brought Manager over who proceeded to say the following: the light in the restaurant makes the meat appear to be rarer than it is and said it was properly cooked which was a ridiculous statement. Then stated next time we come in, ask for him and he will ensure our dishes are properly cooked. Really??? At $43 per entree, I should not have to see the Manager to have things cooked properly. He did credit the steak off our bill which was insignificant due to the overall experience and expectation of a good meal. It is evident by many reviews hat your chef has issues cooking meat properly. You should address this before your customers make the decision for you.

This place is pretty good. Came here for a work function so can't really comment on the price but they do make a pretty strong mojito and the steak was pretty good. It was a bit greasy but the taste was there. The seats are pretty close to each other so if you are going in a group it will be pretty snug and tight. Haha.. otherwise a pretty good spot for dinner.

Good meal and excellent service. Sea bass was delicious and 10 dollars extra they will split and add extra sides. My sons ribs and fries looked great. Cocktails menu interesting but they couldn't make my request cause they ran out of cucumbers? Martini pour a bit shy. Seemed like wine is the bigger draw. I recommend making a reservation on the weekend nights.

Superb service. Delectable food. Very over priced (hence the 3 stars) for what was served Carpaccio: corn-fed beef (which is what was served) is so bland compared to grass-fed. At these prices, I expect grass-fed Garlic French Fries - flavorful, but mushy. Needed to be fried twice to give them a good crunchy-crispness. Instead, they were kinda soggy Black Diamond Torte - decadently sinful, but needed to be served w a raspberry coulis, or something to cut the denseness Chocolate soufflé - best thing on the menu. Light, fluffy, flavorful and totally decadent!

Expensive but good quality food. It's a very high end Park City restaurant. We chose it for our out-of-town Christmas dinner and weren't disappointed. The appetizers all sounded good, we narrowed it down to the shrimp potstickers and the caprese-bread thing. The potstickers were gone before the plate hit the table. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The soufflé and creme brûlée desserts were absolutely to die for. But please do not bring your children, this is not a restaurant for kids.

I'm astonished at all the good reviews. The service was fine, but it almost seemed overdone given the location, ambiance, decor, etc. A total mismatch. I assumed the prices I saw online were reflective of the height of the ski season but was surprised to see that, no, the exorbitant prices were indeed the same in mid-June as they are for the Holidays in an exclusive ski-town. Go figure. The prices would have been halfway acceptable if the food was anything beyond mediocre...and I'm being generous for my particular entree. We had the beet salad -- the blue cheese dressing was completely overpowering...strong and gloppy-- no way for the beets to have a voice on that plate. The "Utah Red Trout" was flavorless but for the over handed topping of capers, tomatoes, pine nuts, etc. Subtlety does not appear to have a place in this kitchen. The whipped potatoes were ok but the asparagus did not even resemble fresh asparagus in color, texture or taste. I don't recall the last time I was served a "fresh" vegetable that was so off the mark. All the dishes at our table (scallops, trout, sea bass) were pedestrian in their preparation and flavor profiles. They WERE overindulgent in portion size (which is not what I'm looking for in my fine dining experience). To give perspective...I'm a foodie....attended culinary school....so judge opinion accordingly.

Wow. We had 6 people and everyone LOVED what they ordered. Not a single person ordered the same thing, and at the end, no one would have changed their order. It was all delicious! I had scallops. Man! My hubs had lamb. Equally wow. Not a single bad thing on the menu.

This review is a couple of weeks old but I wanted to make sure and let everyone know how awesome the food was. The manager/owner came over to help take care of us because they were so busy. He was very nice and accommodating. The steak was a little undercooked so he took it back and it was perfect. Hope it goes well for him. He is a local guy!

Overall one of the best meals I have had in PC. The sea bass was amazing - light, flaky and flavorful. Probably the best sea bass I have had in a long time, The shrimp scampi was also very good, light and lots of flavor. The scallops were just ok. A little bland. The restaurant was very good except for the service, we had a table of adults and a table of kids, the kids ordered before us but got served way after us. We ordered a side of fries and never got it despite repeatedly being told it was coming, we finally had them cancel the order, you would think if the order was put in and on its way, they would have just brought it out, on the house. Overall I would recommend it. It is pricey, even by PC standards so definitely a special occasion place.

EH.....Nothing special Food was just ok, not that great and way over priced Also beware the prices are wrong on their website by about $5-10 an Entree website is cheaper. Oh and don't let them talk you into the chocolate soufflé, unless you like paying $17 for a desert! I had the chicken piccata it was just ok not that good and the gnocchi it was served on tasted like mushy raw potatoes, bleck. Afterwords I ended up sick, didn't sit well. All and all disappointed I've wanted to try this place for some time. Been there done that, won't be coming back. I can think of a lot better restaurants in Park City I would rather spend that kind of money in

There's so many restaurants on Main Street in Park City, that it's hard to pick one that's reliably good. I have found The Mustang to be a cut above the rest. It's tucked away in a spot near the Marriott toward the bottom of Main Street. It's not the prettiest place, but the food is what matters. They have an excellent wine list, which is very important on a snowy night. The fish entrees are probably what's best at The Mustang. The Utah Red Trout is very tasty, the Chilean Sea Bass is excellent, and the Scampi is superb. If you like lamb, try the braised lamb shank. It's done very well. For dessert, you must have their "signature" chocolate souffle. It's the cap of a wonderful evening. It's perfectly made -- not too sweet, not too filling. It's a signature dessert that leaves you wanting to come back again.

Good, but not great. The salad with goat cheese was fresh, crisp and tasty. Recommend avoiding the shrimp pot sticker appetizer. Service was good, the wines available by the glass were disappointing.

We were in Park City for the holiday weekend and decided on The Mustang for our Valentine's Day dinner. The service was excellent - we had a terrific bottle of wine and amazing food. We were all skeptical of eating seafood in a land locked state but The Mustang proved us wrong. Order the Utah Trout!

Disappointing. Half pound of shrimp in Scampi? not. Service was poor - had to ask for service. Over-priced.

Had such high hopes but, in the end, just wasn't great. Beef Carpaccio appetizer was excellent, Sea bass entree was good, Rack of Lamb was not good - it was way undercooked. I asked for it to be cooked more, and still it was was too undercooked and the taste just wasn't great. Place has potential, but this trip wasn't great.

We came here as a party of 6 on Fourth of July. The waitstaff was incredible and attentive-Ryann was our server! Our appetizers were spot on, and we especially loved the potstickers and beef carpaccio. Entrees were all fantastic! Particular loves were the lamb and sea bass. Check this place out!!!!

Sooooo....food was mediocre at best. Service was horrible. my friends rack of lamb came out basically raw. He wanted medium rare. They took it back and cooked it to medium. My chicken marsala was soo over salted! My tongue is still aching from the salt. Goat cheese salad was very good. Seems like they had one waiter for the whole place. The hostess took our appetizer order. Then we didn't see anyone to take our dinner order till after apps were finished so we were sitting there with our menus in our hands while we ate our apps. Pot stickers were good but the calamari in the frito misto app was still raw inside and the batter was oozing. Yuck..Told the waiter and he said he would tell the chef but that was the last we heard of it. All in all it was a bad experience. WONT GO Back.

Actual Star Rating: 2.5 Stars Caveat: Almost every Park City restaurant is shockingly overpriced even compared to SF, CA restaurants. With this said, this review is conducted assuming we are comparing food at the same price points The GOOD: Appetizers were good. The goat cheese salad and tomato bruschette were both solid appetizers.Their fires were also top notch--probably worth the trip for folks looking for top-notch fries. Our waiter Larry was also quite the character and enhanced the value of the meal with his attention, wit and stories. The AVERAGE: The ribs were okay. Kinda of indistinguishable from everyone else's average ribs: meaty with decent sauce but nothing to write to your grandmother in Texas about. Portions were big, thouh. The UGLY: The $40 NY Steak was not nearly as good as the $40 NY Steak I had two days before at Prime around the corner. It was sliced as an afterthought (or to judge how done the steak was). It came out lukewarm at best and was an average cut in terms of quality. Likewise the red trout was under-seasoned, fishy (makes me think it was on the older side). Could you do worse? Sure. Could you do worse for the money? Not so sure. Please note that the vast majority of my reviews are positive. I make it a point to do at least 4 positive reviews for every negative one. I think this keeps me honest.

The food and service were fabulous! We had the salmon special and the Scallops and both exceeded our expectations. However, the decor needs to be updated immediately. It looks like they took over from a sushi restaurant. There are asian silk panels on the walls, neons lights and a neon bar and a bamboo and bengal tiger mural in the ladies restroom. Mustang? Really? Fix the decor and you have a 5 star restaurant.

We had the shrimp potstickers the Utah red trout and the Seabass, all were amazing. The staff is very attentive and Dustin the manager does an excellent job. They have an outstanding bourbon and scotch selection as well very nice wine selection. This is a must try when visiting Park City.

Best restaurant on Main St. Everything was incredible, to include the food and the service. Started off with potstickers, which are an Asian style dish. Then had a Cesar and mango salad. And for entrées enjoyed the filet and the chicken with gnocchis. The Belgian style craft brew was the best I've had since I was in Belgium. Could not have been more satisfied. Try it, you'll be glad you did.

Surprisingly good meal! We've been to special events here before but never actually had dinner here. Glad we did, the food was quite good, and the service was excellent. My only gripe might be that the dining room can be a bit noisy, but nothing unbearable. Started with the duck-filled chile relleno, which was battered with a panko crust and served with two nice sauces (tangy tomato and some sort of cream). Could have been a tad hotter (temp and spice) but very nice flavors. Our boys split the pot stickers and they absolutely devoured them. For mains, had the scallops, which were large and beautifully cooked, with a great sear on the outside but still tender and bordering on raw inside (just like I like them). The scallops were paired with a wonderful cheese, bacon, and onion puff pastry tart, which was an excellent pairing with the scallops, both in taste and texture. One warning: this is a huge portion of scallops! My wife had the red trout, which she also thoroughly enjoyed (can't comment since I didn't taste it ... was having too much of a battle with the scallops). Our thoroughly unimaginative sons both had the burgers, which they enjoyed (but I am hard pressed to think of any burgers they haven't enjoyed!). We also paired dinner with a superb Wolf Blass Gold Label Shiraz from Australia. As mentioned earlier, service was fantastic, even though the restaurant was packed. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and we will add Mustang to our list of stand-bys in Park City!

Love the service, the flavors, the entire night was just excellent! Had the salmon pancake/salad appetizer. It was perhaps one of the best appetizers I have had in a while. Didn't quite know what to expect, but it was sooooo tasty. I should have taken a photo. It was thin-sliced smoked salmon on a bed of greens with a crunchy base. So yummy. Cold eat that every day. The wedge salad was nice. Wife enjoy the ceasar, I had the blue-cheese house. The main course was a medium cooked filet, loved it. I have had a lot of filets from the best places around (Capitol Grille, Flemmings, Ruth Chris) and this was right up there. For not being a steakhouse, I was very pleasantly surprised. Wife enjoyed the halibut. Desert was the "Double Black Diamond" and put us over the top. It was delicious. We were celebrating our anniversary and picked an excellent restaurant to enjoy the evening.

Would have expected higher quality food for the price. Steaks were only average, food was served at a temperature lower than I would have expected. For a place called "Mustang,"I was expecting a more casual atmosphere, not the white linen kind of place we encountered.

What a pleasant dining experience. Very delightful food with beautiful presentation. We enjoyed the scallops & trout. Had a wonderful berry cobbler & apple strudel for dessert. The service was superb. The restaurant style was modern & had a nice flow to it.

Utah trout fish was disgusting - very fishy. Papaya and arugula salad was just okay. Rack of lame was 3 out of 5 stars. This place is over priced for the poor quality food you get. Go somewhere else. Also, when I complained about the fish they didn't even offer to take it off the bill, and there were two of us there with plates we hardly touched. Can't say this is the sharpest management.

This review is only for the hostess who worked on Dec 30, 2013 around 6pm. My husband and I came in for dinner after seeing many good yelp reviews. The host with no smile looked up briefly and without greeting us asked for our last name. After we told her that we don't have a reservation and want to see if we can wait for a table. She immediately replied "I don't have any tables for you." After that she looked down at the computer screen and completely unapologetic and ignored our existence. We have dined in High West the night before, a very busy restaurant, however the hostess and everyone we spoke to make an honest effort to make us feel welcome. They told us the approximate wait time and offered bar area for us to get drinks while waiting for tables. Even with over an hour wait, we had a great time. Park City is a tourist town and businesses are competing to make skiers feel welcome especially during holiday season. I'm really disappointed at the hostess, the first person customers interact with and the first impression of the restaurant. She is not only cold , impolite, and frankly rude. I hope this is an isolated event, otherwise Mustang will lose many patrons before they have opportunities to taste the food.

Wow. We have been here several times but apparently there's a new chef. Most amazing dish I've ever had in Park City......chicken marsala. Beautiful gnocchi base, a couple of blended sauces...just delish. Congrats on a major upgrade!

Several friends have raved about Mustang over the past two years, so I felt compelled to give it the old college try. I had even heard the phrase "Mustang is better than The Riverhorse" a time or two. Clearly, this place merited investigation. Well, my investigation came to a pretty swift conclusion this Monday evening: Mustang the restaurant, much like Mustang the automobile, is quite overrated. The kitchen here clearly has some skills. My sea bass was perfectly cooked, I'll give them that much. The compliments rather abruptly end there, though. The accompanying vegetable and new potato medley was flavorless and not served even warm, let alone hot. My dining companions both at steak frites. The steak, like my fish, was perfectly cooked--bravo--but lacked seasoning and truly was not a great cut of beef by any stretch of the imagination. The fries were the bigger disappointment, though. They were thick and chewy, not crunchy. This was not a "French" fry, it was an Americanized piece of junk food in what pretends to be a fine restaurant. Dessert (crème brûlée) was roughly 3x as expensive as it should have been, and the middle of the top was charred to the point of being inedible. I very politely pointed this out to our server, and he said that it was "supposed to be that way"... Mustang is a horse that I'll never again ride.

  • First Time P.

Disappointing. As a party if 2, we selected Mustang based on a newspaper review that was quite favorable. Several small service glitches added up to a distraction from the food. Duck chile relleno was highly rated in the paper but was soupy, served cooled off, and the duck was small indiscernible cubes. Texture, taste and temperature were off. 24 hours later and I don't remember my entree. Nothing in the meal stood out.

  • K W.

We were really excited about Mustang because of the reviews we read. Part of it was great; part was not so great. The service was really professional and attentive. After we sat down, we ordered a bottle of wine - 2008 xxx- and they brought out the 2010 xxx. We aren't huge wine people, but still. They should have an updated wine menu. Ordered the calamari - not great. Skip this. Ordered the Wedge salad and goat cheese salad - both were delicious and are big enough to share. Ordered the trout - honestly for trout that is touted to be the best in Utah - it's ok. There are other trout dishes on Main Street which are much more flavorful. Ordered the chicken piccata - best part of the meal because the chicken is amazingly juicy and the gnocchi is not to be missed. Ordered the chocolate souffle - I don't have the words for how it was not a souffle. Just because it puffs up, doesn't make it a souffle. Do not order this. Even with some of the "misses" we still enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Ask for a regular table as opposed to the table with the bar chairs. Also, beware that the prices are not as they are in the magazines or on their web site.

The sea bass, scallop and pasta dishes were excellent and the atmosphere is sophisticated yet elegant. However, the service and the filet mignon left much to be desired. My husband ordered The Mustang's allegedly award winning French fries, which never showed up. My son's filet mignon was overcooked (medium rare was more like well done)! Although we had a large party, I was hoping that with two servers helping us the restaurant would be on top of things. They missed the mark. If I only had to critique the food, I would give it 4 1/2 stars, but the service was really disappointing.

Hmm... where to begin? Food was great.. and so was our server! However... the hostess, not so much. We showed up on time and had a reservation. The hostess wasn't very friendly and told me there was going to be a 10-15 minute wait... (even with our reservation.) What is the point of making a reservation if your table isn't ready when you arrive? Not to mention, she wasn't very nice about it. She told us to go down to the bar to wait for our table. Ugh.. there was nowhere to sit and the bar area felt very awkward. (NOTE: to the owner who wears sweat pants... get some bar stools. This is supposed to be a classy restaurant.) We were instantly greeted by the sweet bar tender who was awesome and very attentive! We loved her and loved our server! Food was awesome! I had the chicken dish and it was soaked in an amazing cream sauce! My man had the steak and that was delicious! Minus the rude hostess, I do reccommend this place! Yummy food!

Just ate here this evening, two adults and two teenagers. The teens devoured their steaks and we adults loved our fish dishes - trout and a salmon special. The arugula and papaya salad with pancetta was a great starter. Nice atmosphere, attentive service, and deliciously prepared food. The dishes we saw delivered to other tables looked amazing, too, especially the ribs and the lamb. Would eat here again for sure.

Local friend told me I needed to try The Mustang and said I should look for the 2-for-1 special online. Made reservations for 7:15 and we were seated immediately. The restaurant filled up quickly right as we arrived though the volume was never too high. Service was excellent. We ordered the bruschetta to share. I'm not usually a big fan, but I thought it was excellent. My wife ordered the wedge salad and I had the papaya salad. The dressings on both were terrific. The almonds and pancetta on the papaya salad was a nice touch. I ordered the red trout and my wife orders the chicken piccata. The crust on the chicken was perfect and the chicken was moist. The best part of her meal was the gnocchi. Rich and great flavor. My trout was fantastic despite too many capers. It was cooked perfectly. My mashed potatoes were okay and the asparagus was average. The only real downside was the wait for the entrees. Given the large crowd we waited a lot longer than usual for the entrees but the staff kept us informed and apologized a number of times. 2-for-1 deal runs through the start of ski season and I highly recommend taking advantage.

My husband and I both had the Sea Bass and it was outstanding. Nice, cozy atmosphere, good wine selection. A neighboring table of 4 had the lobster and they appeared to love it. The presentation was beautiful...wish I had taken a picture.

Great expectations for diver scallops were masked by rich sauces and puff pastry. Lamb shank was tender but void of any enticing flavor. Waiter was borderline rude and seemed in a rush with little excitement for the food he was about to serve. Hostess was very accommodating and seated us at an envionmentally friendly location, which was the highlight of the evening. Desperate wine list which needs more wines by the glass and a greater wine selection to at least match/overcome the rich sauce- happy chef's recipes.

I have eaten here several times and it is one of my Park City favorites. I like the trout or halibut, and my husband usually orders meat (changes every time but always great). Save room for the double black diamond dessert. It is awesome!

We have been coming to PC for the past 7 years and not until this trip did we eat at Mustangs. In fact we ate there twice.!! Both times we had a fabulous meal and had Christy as our server who is wonderful! I had the Chilian Seabass which was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were al dente julienne style which complimented the fish perfectly. Two others in our group had the Lamb Shank and said it was the best they have ever had, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to go have a wonderful meal. The food can get pricey during the peak months but with the two for one coupons offered in the PC paper and 6$ corkage fee in the summer and fall its a great value. The restaurant can get loud when busy as it was last night- but we choose to sit outside which was perfect.

all i can say is GO! we had the best meal of the whole trip at the mustang! Started off with the potstickers(dumplings) these were some of the best i have ever had. I had the scallops with a au-gratin cake in the center, it was absolutely DIVINE. Service was excellent. Great wine list! this place is fantastic.

  • Jennefer T.

Even though I gave this restaurant 4 stars - which it totally deserved - I am not sure i would go back often as I consider this a bit too "special occasion" for my taste. That said, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. The scallops in particular were big and well cooked and the bread arrived at the table just out of the oven. Our desserts were the only "eh" part of the meal. My husband's souffle was undercooked and my apple tart had the same pasty exterior that had come with my scallop side dish. The atmosphere here is great and they make you feel special though, which is worth a lot!

I agree with all the positive reviews. Came here with my family. Very fresh and innovative food. Loud room, but with 3 little kids, that is exactly what I look for! The fried Utah Shepherd's Goat Cheese was a standout. Staff was friendly and attentive. When we come back to Park City next time, we will definitely come back here.

I stopped by Mustang last night with my girlfriend because the outdoor fire pit looked like a great spot to grab a glass of wine after dinner. There were plenty of open tables around but we waited till a server appeared and asked if we could sit by the fire and order glass if wine. Larry, the server, couldn't have been any ruder if he tried! He abruptly expanded Mustang had no liqueur liscense and we'd need to go elsewhere. What a shame because it looked like cool spot.

I had a friend in from out of town and he wanted the Sundance experience. So one day we went up (along with my boyfriend), took in a movie, and then headed to The Mustang for dinner. At first, I was disappointed because it was way at the end of Main Street, away from the chaos. But my friend said he preferred this, so it's all good. The atmosphere was nice. As others have said, it is a bit confused, but it's bright, open, and inviting. We started with a bottle of pinot noir and some calamari. It was different, but wonderful. Instead of marinara, it was served with some variation of tartar sauce, which I preferred. It didn't have many of the rings, but many of the other parts, and there were onions and zucchini in there as well. It was a nice touch. We all had Caesar salads, which were all good. Not too different from what you'd get at other restaurants, but just fine. I had the Utah Red Trout and was surprised by how large the portion was. Usually at a place like this the portions are small, but here they're more than adequate. It was cooked perfectly, well spiced, and the asparagus and mashed potatoes were a nice touch. My boyfriend had the scallops, which were fantastic, and my friend had the baby back ribs. He's a barbeque snob from Texas and they even impressed him. For dessert we had the double black diamond, which about killed us with its chocolately goodness. Service was fantastic the entire meal, and I have absolutely no complaints. Highly recommended.

We recently visited Park City and spend two wonderful nights at the Mustang. The first night we just had appetizers of chili relleno and corn chowder soup - both were wonderful. We saved room for the chocolate souffle which is to die for. Four nights later we went back for our final dinner in Park City. This time we had a two for one coupon so we both got entrees. Carol had chilean sea bass and I had the scallops. Both dishes were perfect and we argued back and forth which one was better. For dessert we went with another signature dish - the apple tart with ice cream. The puffed pastry on the dessert was perfect and the tastes blended just like they should. We will definitely be back to the Mustang any time we are in Park City!.

This is hands down the worst restaurant in Park City. I have lived here for 20 yrs and never have been treated so poorly or have had such horrible food. Waited 1 hr for our food. Everything was over cooked. The server had a bad attitude and said she would give us a desert. By that time half the table got up and left because they didn't want to sit any longer. When asked for the manager she said he is the chef and can't get away. She then went ahead and argued with me. There are better restaurants that would be 100% better to experience.

The most interesting thing about this place is the decor. It seems that the property's last few renters left their stuff there, and these guys just kept everything on the wall if it featured a horse or a car. Or paint. Sounds truly American, right? Right! Especially the pinkish prints of the Japanese sho-guns on their prancing horses in clouds. Across from that you can find some type of abstract "art" that one might also see in a Designing Women re-run. Well, that's Park City for you. I would be amazed if I'll find the same restaurant there next time I head up for dinner but I'm sure the old prints will still be there. I was LUCKY that the soup of the day happened to be vegetarian, or I would have had nothing to eat but fries. I still did have some fries, and they were good. My companions all enjoyed their food. Yes, it was expensive, just like every place in Park City. So why does this place get so many stars? Because!! I left my purse hanging on my chair, and when I ran back in hysterics a half hour later, it had been locked up in a safe by the honest staff! Nothing was missing. That's why I'm not saying one little thing about the hostess because she redeemed herself a millions times over when she found my purse and kept it safe for me. I was really grateful.

We've been coming to Park City for summer vacation for 10 years, and Mustang continues to be one of our favorite dinner destinations. They do a consistently good job with both food and service. Dining outside on the patio on a mild summer night is a great experience.

I loved this place. Didn't really get a chance to review the menu because I first experience with The Mustang was at the Park City Savor the Summit. The table decoration was sub-par but te food quickly made up for it. Right at the beginning of lower Main street, you might miss it because it isn't in the hussle and bussle of downtown. Yet I see that as a benefit, it's a gem hidden in plain sight! The price is right, the service was great, the chicken (which i tasted) was moist and tender, my filet minor was bloody and full of flavor (the way i like it) - but the reason it didn't 5 stars is due to the TWO small potatoes that i got with my filet. no bueno. I will 100% be going back during my next visit - which won't be soon enough.

If you only care about the food and not service, then this is the restaurant for you. The staff could not care less about the patrones and the hostess was the worst I've ever come across in my entire dining experience. I can't blame the staff as they are simply a reflection of the weak manager running the restaurant. We had an issue with our check and when we asked for the manager, he didn't have the professionalism to speak with us but simply told the waiter that he would not assist us and asked the waiter to handle it. The wine is marked up by at least 3x and we ordered 2 bottles priced at $100 each. A person in our group asked for a glass of wine to enjoy with the steak and the wine was not brought until after the end of the main course. We asked that the restaurant not charge us for the glass of wine because the it was not delivered timely. The waitress insisted that we had to pay since the wine glass was empty. Our group of 5 ordered appetizers and entrees and were never asked if we wanted any dessert. We simply were handed an inaccurate check and never, never had refills on water. Our waiter dissapeared while we dined on our main course. I was appalled that the restaurant added an 18% gratuity to the check. 18% is not deserving of the poor service we received. I would never go back to this restaurant based on the terrible service. The chef and kitchen do a fantastic job with the execution of the food and certainly should be in a restaurant that is deserving of their exceptional food and the front of the house who is going to represent it appropriately. I wish the chef continued success - elsewhere.

I'm just getting ready to pay my bill and I couldn't be more pleased. My wife had the best meal, the Utah red trout. I'm from Seattle/Portland and this trout rivaled the best salmon dished I've had. My daughter had the steak frites and it was flavorful and tender. We also had the scallops, filet mignon as well as the barley soup and mango arugula salad. The meal was a solid 4.5 starts and rounding up.

Any restaurant that I choose as my go-to spot for every birthday, anniversary, promotion, etc is the clear winner for my favorite restaurant in PC. I get the same thing every time. I can't even go near the Mustang without drooling over the scallops. They're the most perfectly seared scallops of all time, served on top of this puff pastry creation with cheese and herbs baked inside of it. I abandon all of my harsh feelings towards butter for the sauce they serve on top. Out of control. Can't leave without experiencing the chocolate souffle. The cool vanilla bean sauce that you pour over the piping hot souffle is the most perfect contrast known to man. Your server will suggest that your order it upon being seated, but if he forgets for any reason, make sure to order it early. It takes awhile.

We eat out often when visiting Park City and this has to be one of the best dinners. Service was good and everything arrived at the right temperature with great presentation. Portion size was large - almost too much to eat. Price was at the high end for Park City -- BUT worth it. Will return on our next visit.

My family went here for a birthday celebration, and it was a great experience. The server was polite, knowledgeable, and kept the water and wine glasses topped off. I started with the beef carpaccio...really delicate flavors, and really good texture with the radicchio and toast. Next, the lamb shank, which came with mashed potatoes and spinach...it was all cooked perfectly. I also tasted at least 5 other dishes... smoked salmon potato pancake...sounds weird, but it was awesome. bold smokey salmon flavor, great potato crunch. duck chile relleno...wow. it was huge, had a little kick, and was really rich. i probably wouldn't have had to eat an entree if i had ordered this to start. utah red trout...cooked perfectly. a little citrus, and seasoned well. really fresh flavors. chicken piccata...very good, not overcooked, and the gnocchi was delicious. chipotle bbq baby back ribs...one of my favorites. fall off the bone goodness. sea bass...cooked perfectly. enough said. filet mignon...cooked medium rare as requested, and fantastic. dessert...chocolate souffle...i'm not crazy about souffles, but this was pretty darn good. as you can see, i ate a lot, and enjoyed everything...not one dull dish. mostly simple flavors, but executed very well. recommended.

The food we had was pretty good, but the atmosphere was strange. It was extremely loud and the music they played was very random. The decor seemed to have multiple personalities, like they couldn't decide what they were going for. I was disappointed that they billed themselves as a fine dining establishment when it clearly is not.

Best meal of our week in Park City! The scallops and Chilean sea bass were cooked to perfection and simply amazing. Chocolate mousse cake topped things off nicely. And the bonus, two for one entrees and $5 corkage! The decor was understated and elegant - must have been redone since some previous reviews.

Mustang is good for steak and seafood. The portions are right on and there is a wide variety of items to choose from. Everything we had was prepared perfectly and the only complaint was that the dining room was pretty loud. Located literally at the last possible address on lower Main St., Mustang is close to the Marriott Summit Watch and a few other downtown hotels. They have a dedicated garage with free validated parking, which is nice in the winter time when weather's not great. Decor is a bit unusual, with a 1980s Miami Vice feel with some loud neon colors thrown into an overall dark, modern style. Certainly nothing to complain about. I especially liked the food because we had two outstanding dishes. Their special that night was swordfish, and for those who've had great swordfish, nothing beats the juicy flavors from a great piece of swordfish. They also had a delicious chocolate souffle special with a bit of freshly whipped cream and berries on the side. Our calamari appetizer was nice with some fried veggies added to the mix and the scallop dish came with a uniquely delicious filo pastry cheesy tart thing. The owner/chef works in the kitchen so you can count on fairly high quality control. And portions are generous so you're not likely to be hungry afterwards.

Mustang was a great place to go, first of all I loved our server, think his name was Nick, which says something when I remember the name of our server. He suggested the chili relleno, which was unreal. The chili wasnt too hot but the cheese melted in your mouth with a little bit of chorizo in the middle. UGHHH, delicious. We also got the french fries for some reason, nothing too special about them. For the main course I ordered the New York Strip which was pretty solid but I loved the baked potato for some reason. It seemed like it was cooked and then thrown in the deep fryer for a second because the skin was so crunchy and delicious. My mom got the Red Trout which is supposed to be unreal but i tried some and to me I wouldve rather gotten salmon because it kind of tasted like Salmon but also a hint of trout. My sister got the Chilean Seabass which was delicious. I'm always a fan of fish covered in sauteed shrimp, its like the perfect finishing touch. But the chocolate souffle was Epic. It was like creme brulee and flourless souffle combined. Lets just say that my family looked like a pack of ravenous hyenas attacking that thing. It was literally gone in a minute it was so good and even my mom was licking her plate. Haha. Overall I'd say the best parts were the appetizers, desert and service. The main courses were good but not worth 5 star I'd say. Pretty solid though

Just because they charge $30+ an entree does not make it a classy or delicious meal. This food is overpriced and over-cooked, lacking any real flavor. If you want an upscale dinner that is worth the money, try a long list of other restaurants I can suggest. And really a burger at No Name Saloon would have been more rewarding than a $40 burnt, poorly cut sirloin or my dried out, bland trout. We certainly do not mind paying, but you expect the quality of the product to somewhat reflect those prices. We will never go back, they must thrive on unsuspecting tourists and their prime location. On a positive note, the server was attentive.

Mustang was a great meal! Our server couldn't have been more attentive and pleasant. Her recommendations were spot on. I should have known what a great meal we were about to have when our servor brought out a hot loaf of wonderful sourdough bread with a square of butter...... simply heavenly! Caesar salad, brushcetta with bufalo mozzarella and a delicious goat cheese salad were great starts. My wife had the Utah Red Trout which she loved. I had the shrimp scampi over pasta which was phenomenal. My son had Steak Frites which was cooked to perfection and the french fries were delicious. In addition, my 2 daughters shared the filet mignon with onion rings and sauteed spinach which the restaurant brought out as if they were two separate entrees. I've been to 7-8 restaurants in Park City and this was tops so far for food, ambiance and service. Also, don't forget to order the chocolate soufflé (takes 20 minutes) with vanilla sauce and fresh whipped cream. P.S. if you want to stay away from the craziness of upper Main St. , Park City, Mustang is your spot.

The food was good, but not great. My wife and I had the arugula salad and the fried goat cheese salad. They were excellent. For our entrees we had the scallops and Seabass They were okay. They scallops were under cooked and the seabass had too much lemon sauce. The chocolate souffle was outstanding. For the price there are better restaurants in PC.

I went here on Vday and it was packed. The decor is weird, it looks very casual, but this place bills it self as a fine dining establishment. They need to hire a new decorator. The food was good tho. I had the scallops and they were prepared perfectly. Although I think the restaurant is trying too hard. Some asian influence, a lot of Tex Mex influence...

Not surprising that a former Riverhorse chef has made it big time....one PC's top 2 or three...dine there 6 or 7 times a year....always wonderful.last night the grilled lobster was interesting and delightfully unique. can't wait to go next week.

We were tricked! As this was our first trip to Park City, we left our plans in the hands of reading reviews and looking at online reservation sites. I went to Opentable.com to book our "nice dinner" during our 5 days in Park City. Our second night was the only day that we could get in with reservations online and they only had one time slot open. We showed up on time, to find there was only 2 other tables occupied in the whole restaurant! We sat at a high top right by the windows so we were able to admire the beautiful views of downtown Park City. We opted not to get an appetizer, and went straight for the entrees. I went for the filet which came with a broiled tomato, sauteed spinach, and fried onions complete with a red wine sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly and I loved it! My boyfriend got the Alaskan Halibut which he found a bit overcooked and oily, but also very flavorful. The service was great-- I would be surprised if it wasnt since there was noone in there. The drinks were great-- try the mojito!

This place was OK. The 4.5 star rating is beyond me... The service, well, it pretty much sucked. Nothing like going into a restaurant and having the hostess walk by you 4 times and not even acknowledging your existence for 10 minutes to make you feel not very welcomed. Our waiter was very awkward and did a poor job as well. Now for the food. It was good, at best. We ordered the chilean sea bass and the scallop plate. Seriously, for $40, I expect more than 3 small scallops... The bass was pretty good and I would be glad to give this place 4 stars if the prices were $10 cheaper. If your going to spend this kind of money, go to Talisker on Main. We totally regret not going there.

This is one of my favorite places in PC. The food is fun, and different, which when you eat out as often as I do, is a must. The potstickers were tangy, and the ginger int the soy based sauce is not overpowering. The salads are to die for, but feel free to share one, because you'll want to enjoy your entree. We ordered the sea bass (which was done to perfection), and the lobster tail. Now I am a purist when it comes to lobster, and while this dish in particular seemed to reach a bit, it held it's own well. If you're looking for run of the mill lobster with drawn butter, this is not it, but if you're daring enough to try something totally new, it may be just the ticket for you. The best thing of the night might be the perfectly presented and absolutely divine chocolate souffle. If I would have had room, I would have ordered one for myself, instead of the one we shared. The amibance is cool, the servers are professional, and really know their stuff. The owner/cheff, Bill, is as good as it gets, and takes personal pride in everything he sends out the window. The only downside of this restaurant is that it can get really loud if the restaurant gets full. Don't miss Mustang the next time you are in Park City. And DO NOT MISS the chocolate souffle.

Very enjoyable meal at the Mustang. It was early ski season and so perhaps not the best test for a restaurant that must run at full-tilt from the beginning of Christmas vacation through well past Sundance, but nevertheless fine. We wouldn't mind going there at the height of the season. Friendly and attentive service, in a room which is entirely inoffensive in decor (eclectic perhaps, but not as obtrusively so as prior reviews might seem to suggest). Tasty bread served hot, a wine list that for Park City (as far as we have seen) was reasonably long and fairly priced, and a lot of interesting choices on the menu. Our starters were a servicable-to-good wedge salad and an DELICIOUS CANNOT BE MISSED house specialty: smoked salmon on potato pancake. Mains we enjoyed included a salmon, river trout with a spicy mashed potato accompaniment, and the sybaritic delight of the scallops: a big plate full of tasty scallops and a filo-and-cheese accompaniment that really can only be finished by someone who has skied hard from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day.

My husband and I agreed it was jUst OK. Weird at first how they "squeezed" in our reservation and it was totally pry for the first 30min we sat. Red trout just ok with mushy mashed potatoes. Very nice wait staff. Maybe give it one more try.

This place is so confused. No not confusING, confusED. The decor is sort of Asian, but with splashes of neon flower shaped lights in the windows...so bizarre. That said, I've been here twice now and the food has overall been really tasty. This place knows we're here for the festival and also knows that they're going to be super busy...and they do a great job of keeping the flow and timing down to a science. I definitely think they prepare well for the massive influx of celebs, wannabes and average film fans alike. Last year this was our hot-spot for close-up celeb sightings (Robert Downey Jr. and Daryl Hannah!) but this year- nada! Anyway- back to the food- I think the steak here is always a good call...pretty sure I had it for an entree last year. This year we had a great tartare app as well as a bruschetta I think- both GREAT! 3 of us had fish for our meal, one had pork. My fish was just ok- red trout I think which was a little fishier than I like...the pork seemed pretty fatty and tough to eat for one friend...the other 2 seemed spot on. We'll go back here and I'll probably stick to ordering steak as I have in the past with more success.

Excellent restaurant. Not pretentious, great food and service. Upbeat atmosphere. I had the lobster tail with jack cheese enchilada which, being from New England, is an odd pairing but it really worked. The chocolate souffle is to die for. I split mine with my friend but it's so light and airy, it' would have been fine to order our own and not feel stuffed. The only thing I didn't care for that I ordered were the onion rings that were too dry and crispy with batter that was just too thick. Overall, great restaurant choice in Park City.

This place was great. I loved it for the following reasons: 1. They fit in a party of 8 last minute, and we did not have to wait once we arrived. 2. The chicken mother-f'ing potstickers. Next time I will order a whole plate for myself. They were so, so, so delicious. 3. The manager, who calmed down a large party of rowdy and loud old yuppie guys who were making it impossible for anyone else in that section of the restaurant to enjoy their meal. 4. Courteous, prompt service. Seriously, the food was very good. The bacon-wrapped shrimp and lime-marinated chicken were delicious. Those in my party who had the steak enjoyed it, same with the duck and the scampi. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars because it's not the most creative food in the world, but it is very well prepared and it was a great meal. Will definitely dine here again next time I'm in Park City.

So this place actually has a chef, a good one, how do I know that ? cause he came out and asked how we like the way the food was prepared. So the chicken potstickers were good - home made, I don't know of the were MF word good like the other reviewer claims but they were good. Wedge salad - good as always almost anywhere, the entrees - Ok the entrees were MF'in good. This guy prepared the best chilean sea bass I have ever had, I love chilean sea bass and I don't think I have had better, the wine list was fair and the hostess, waitress were as pleasant as could be (maybe they were happy the film festival was over). We sort of closed the place down and had some dessert which were also good.

the mustang is a great place to have dinner if you are in park city. my advice if you go during sundance is definitely to make a reservation! the decor is weird - kind of asian and modern, but with some neon and no real theme. but the food is great - all 3 times i have been there, i have really enjoyed my meal. and the service is good too. i have had to wait for a table even though i had a reservation, but not too long. their drink menu is not too exciting, although there is a bar to wait in. and once we sat next to robert downey jr, which was a plus!!

The Mustang has been in Park City for almost 2 years and will likely be around for a long time as it is currently one of the best in town. The owner/chief used to be at the Riverhorse in Park City. The location may be just a bit hard to find at the "bottom" of Main St. in Old Town, part of the Marriot Summit Watch shopping mall. Validated parking available in the hotel underground lot. The menu is not large with usually 5 to 7 entre choices varied enough to keep everyone happy with the selections changing often. I have been there numerous times and have never been disappointed either in choice or quality of the meal. The Red Trout and Oso Bucco are outstanding if available. Good wine list, service attentive but not pushy. Reservations will be needed during busy times, not cheap but worth the price.
